NCTE 2009 – Once and Future Classics: Reading Between the Lines

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE’s) annual convention begins this week and I am very excited to go! So, I’ve been busy correcting papers, preparing for the online component of the course I teach, reading and completing a big project for one of my classes so I don’t have to play “catch-up” when I come back (at least, not as much). The word “busy” has taken a life of its own but NCTE is well worth it!

If you’ve never had the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it (I presented last year and had a great time). English educators from all over the U.S. get together to share thoughts, new ideas and use of technology, and more. Plus, you get to meet and talk with publishers and authors who bring books to sell and give away.

While blogging will be put on hold, I will be tweeting from the conference using the #NCTE hashtag. Feel free to follow @pm_rodriguez. If you’re presenting, please let me know by leaving a comment or sending a tweet my way. There are a few hours I did not plan this weekend and I’d love some suggestions!
