Monday Challenge 7/6/09

Here are this week’s challenges! If you are curious about this challenge and want to know more/participate, please read this first.

Challenge for writers, by Bonet Graphic Designs

With the following specifications, write a treatment for a sitcom you would pitch to a cable network that caters to mainstream audiences (for example: ABC, NBC, etc. instead of Sci-Fi, HBO, etc.).

A treatment is a brief synopsis of the idea you want to pitch and how it is suited for television. It can be anywhere from 1-5 pages of persuasive writing, but keep in mind that you are not writing a script. You are writing something you can sell to a corporate network representative, so make sure to have enough details to capture the audience and make them want more, keep them in their seats, etc.

Setting: Puerto Rico, any city/town/municipality
Characters: college-age friends: a mix of female and male, they are not recently out of high school, with real life problems
Time period: contemporary

Challenge for graphic designers, by Prisca

Check it out, graphic designers! Here is a chance at $500 and bragging rights. I was surfing the internet for inspiration for this week’s challenge, when I stumbled on this:

“HUGO Create is a global design contest from HUGO fragrances
by HUGO BOSS. The contest is open to people of all skill levels. Professionals, students and design-enthusiasts: this is your opportunity to show the world your ideas and skills.” Quoted from Click on the link and check out the rest of the information. The deadline is August 31st at 11:59 PST. Good luck!

Now, for this week’s Monday challenge:

July is national ice cream month! (I kid you not!) Create a design around this theme that can be easily placed on a T-shirt or mug.

Have fun!

Remember to post your story/design no later than Saturday by 11:59 pm. If you want me to post it for you, please e-mail it to me by Friday so I have enough time!
