Here are this week’s completed challenges.

Please join us next Monday. If you are hesitating because you are one of those writers/designers that have difficulty finishing a project (like moi), then I recommend trying Write or Die! It’s a blast and it really helps.

Here were the instructions for this week’s writing and graphic design challenges:

Challenge for writers, by Bonet Graphic Designs

Write a mini news story from the headline below.
Make up the characters, setting, details, etc.
You have to make it sound like a real news article (online or printed) – so it needs to attract the audience, inform and not be too long (300-500 words).

Your headline:
Massive traffic jam on Interstate Highway

Challenge for graphic designers, by Prisca

A famous author has just called you to design a book jacket for his/her next book! This author has seen your work before and thought you would be perfect for the job.

The author gives you the following information:

Title of the Book – Top 10 Author Blogs

In this book he/she writes about ten of the best author blogs and the characteristics that make them stand out, based on information gathered by Codex Group and gives new/aspiring authors advice on how to reach their readers through blogging.

*The dimensions for the book jacket are (inches):

Overall: 18.625 x 7.25
Flaps: 3.5 each
Front & Back: 4.625 each
Spine: 1.625
Allow a .375 wrap for each flap
Use at least 1/8″ beyond trim for any bleeds

*The dimensions were taken from Makeover Project – Poetry Book Jacket by Jacci Howard Bear

Have fun!

Remember to post your story/design no later than Saturday by 11:59 pm. If you want me to post it for you, please e-mail it to me by Friday so I have enough time!
